Need Advice on this 2008 STi

    Hi,

I'm not all that familiar with the Subie community so it would be helpful if you could help me out with this. I'm looking for a used Sti or new WRX for my mom and found this 2008 STi locally with 6,900 miles on it. The dealership is asking $33,262. I'm wondering what a good deal/good price would be before taxes, title, dealer handling ect...

    2008 Sti with BBS package.
    Spark Silver Metallic
    Tu-Tone Grey + Graphite Interior
305 HP - 2.5L DOHC Intercooled Turbo Engine
    6-Speed Manual Transmission
Front + Rear Limited Slip Differentials
Brembo Heavy Duty 4-Wheel Disc Brakes
    Quad Exhaust Outlets
    18" BBS Wheels
    Rear Gate Spoiler
    Silver Sport Grille
    Factory NAVIGATION
Xm Sat Radio with Factory Amp + Subwoofer

    AFTERMARKET ACCESSORIES
    *Injen Cold Air Intake
    *Cobb Downpipe
    *Cobb Turbo Heat Shield
    *Cobb Accessport Programmer
    *Braided Steel Brake Lines
    *Motul Hi-Temp Brake Fluid
    *Perrin Front Strut Brace
    *Carbon Fiber "Eyelids"
    *Carbon Fiber Pillar Trim
    - All "stock" parts available upon request.

I would prefer to turn it back to stock and sell most of the aftermarket parts. I assume the accessport programmer was primarily to remap after installing the downpipe to avoid a CEL?

    i'd stay away from it.

    1) it's modded

    2) injen intakes are one of the worst designed ones out there

    3) they're asking too much money & overlooked the fact that mods dont add value.

Are injen's not preferred because of the filter element or for some other reason? What would you offer for the car?

Modded = Previous owner wanted to push it = Stay away.

Plus $33k is a lot. Just save up some and get a new STi for $35k~, or look harder because that's a lot for a used/modded car.

    Just my $0.02.

No, because of piping diameter. It's not the same size as stock so it skews MAF readings causing your air-to-fuel ratio to be thrown off.

    +1 stay away
i know many people who have bought semi used modded cars and it never turns out well, either save up a little more for a new STI or look around for something else.

I once attempted to get my mom to buy a 06 wrx when they came out and she almost got one and then randomly showed up with a brand new rav4... atleast its the sport v6 one so its not horrible but man if she came home with a brand new wrx that year i would have been so happy
