Does it have a bung ? Does your model have a bung ? How big is the diameter of the UP ? What is the brand ? How big are the flanges ? Answer these and you will have your answer.

For every install, you'll need new gaskets all around. Uppipe/turbo, uppipe/exhaust manifold, downpipe/turbo, and downpipe/catback (if you're not reusing the OEM donut gasket). Depending on your install, you may need exhaust manifold / crosspipe if you completely take the one elbow off, which I've seen people do.

The OEM uppipe has an EGT probe in there. Some aftermarket ones have a bung, some don't.

    TurboXS has a bung:

    Grimmspeed doesn't:

If you have an '02-'05 WRX, it's the same.

will the sti manifold fit on an 02 wrx wagon?

He is selling the pipe for 50 and mani for 30

Hey man, the bung is for an EGT sensor (exhaust gas temperature gauge). Also make sure the pipe has no cat in it, one of the biggest reasons to swap on our early models is to make sure pieces of cat dont get sucked into the compressor housing of the turbo. I am not positive but i think the sti headers will fit, headers wont do a lot for you other than changing the engine notes a bit, but at that price it sounds pretty good. Lastly try to remove your sensor before you remove the u upipe from the car, otherwise you will need a vice since they tend to be torqued the heck down.

Without a catalytic converter, there is no reason for it (hence why some aftermarket uppipes like the Grimmspeed don't come with one). Plug the bung with a bolt and do the 2.2K Ohm Resistor mod (search for it on here).

Yes, but it would not be an upgrade for you, since it's the same part

The only reason to buy that would be to have a spare lying around to do a port/polish job on

Yes, pick the mani up to and send it to ported, polished and coated OR wrapped.... then you will see gains. IM me for a guy I use on IWSTI.com

Wish I could pick up a used mani for 30.00

Thanks guys. You all have been a big help. It is a GT Spec up pipe he doesn't remember the size.

I will pick up the manifold and look into the port and polish it seems like a good price

I don't know anything about exhaust so I will have a shop do it. I don't trust a shop here in my town ( there is like 1 other wrx in town) and I don't know of they know how to work on them. But it's just my thought. I don't mind paying more to have the job done right. I have been f'd over on a motor rebuild here in town so yea.

    Are the gt spec's decent?

Will it make my exhaust tone sound a little better?

An uppipe will not give you better exhaust notes, I even had an aftermarket downpipe with a stock catback and I did not notice a difference. The uppipe will give you a bit more power, turbo should spool about 500rpms sooner as you have relieved the restriction to it.

I got an awesome set of ported/polished manifolds from Defiant Autospeed on Nasioc. Just the elbows is $150, but if you have him do the crossover pipe as well, it's $175. Definitely worth it.

Grimmspeed is another good option, but they're more $$.
