    New 2010 WRX Premium owner

    Hello everyone,
I am picking my 2010 WRX Premium Dark gray metallic tomorrow Getting it with the short throw shifter (there was none available with factory installed, so I am having it installed at the dealer)
This is my first Subaru after having owning Volvos as my last two cars.
And I am from the Bay Area.
    Cheers.

Thanks! Cant wait to pick it up!!
First time with a short shifter...I test drove both when I was shopping and boy the short shifter is so crisper and makes the shifts seamless.
That's the first car to own to be manual..however, I learned and took my driver license test in a manual. It will take a while to get used to it in the WRX because the gas pedal is very sensitive. But learning it is part of the fun

Subarus have a great reputation. I see so many here in the bay area and california in general.
But I read about some pretty disturbing problems that owners had on early 09s and 08s (engine and clutch) wrx . Hopefully the 2010 have some stuff ironed out and that it will be a less painful ownership

So I picked it up yesterday This machine is amazing! Never drove anything this powerful before (besides the test drives) It's gonna take a while to get used to shifting. The commute to work was a lotta fun!

    Thanks!

Hey 04.SPT.WRX, what gear do you have? I started playing when I was 16 (now I am 29) but I havent been playing much lately. For my marital engagement, my wife gave me a PRS Custom-24 and it's a beauty. I run it through a Line6 spiderIII 75w amp. Great combination I must say.

1971 Gibson Les Paul Custom, 2003 Martin D16GT and a 1979 Mesa Boogie Mark II 100w combo amp bought new factory direct serial number 6743 (the number of amps they had produced at that time).

    I haven't played in a few years.

Always liked Les Pauls (Slash is one of my guitar heroes.)

On a different note () I don't see any meets going on in norcal in this forum...Is there a place where I can find out ? Looking to meet up with some fellow owners

    which part of nor cal?

I used to go to races back before I got my license suspended, its not a Subaru thing, mostly just street racing, but you will see alotta nice cars, its not legal if you really care for the legality of the meets. its up in Milpitas if I remember correctly

I am in the bay area. I don't really wanna hang out at illegal meets/street races ...just your regular meet and greets, people showing off their cars etc...

Hey wrxnews, I am trying hard to follow the break in guidelines, this car is very willing. The gas mileage ain't that bad, i thought it would be a lot worse. I've gone about 150 mi and the gauge shows 1/2 tank..not bad.
I love the white pearl color, that was actually my first choice, but there was no white wrx premium anywhere in the bay area last week...so I settled with the dark grey, which is a pretty sweet color! matches the rims lol
