    STI power steering

Hi. I am a new guy. I have a question I hope someone may have some insight on. I own a 2006 STI. It has 46000 miles. Driven moderately, and taken care of. I am getting a noise from the engine bay when it is cold that just started as the weather has turned cooler here in Denver The noise goes away when the car is completely warm. Dealer says it is power steering pump. It is coming from something (aren't I very technical?) left front near the top just to the right of the power steering fluid res. Dealer wants $900.00 to replace. Anybody can offer any advice?

Can't be of much assistance on the problem at hand... but how much of that $900 is labor? Would you be able to find a used one and replace it yourself?

You can buy a used pump ~$150.
