    Thumbs up Looking to buy a 04 sti

    hi guys, i am new member to this forum and i am looking forward to buy a 04-05 impreza wrx sti.i am not a stranger to the car fourms nor car scene but i have no experices in impreza at all.is there anything i should be looking out ?
    from what i have done research on, a nice good condition 04 sti with around 60k-70k miles is around $14k-$15k, right?

    i am looking to get my blue or silver sti at the end of the year or early next year.i dont really want to settle for a regular wrx model now which has 2 liter turbo engine and awd,but it doesnt have brembo calipers,oem high spoiler,bbs rims and 2.5 litler turbo charged 300 hp engine and interior.
    i am still $4000 short from $14k.

    thanks.but i can only afford a 02-04 wrx if i want to get it now.or save a couple thousands for 04-05 sti model

    Take it to a place that knows the cars, preferably a performance shop that tunes Subarus. Have them see if there are any obvious signs of the "return to stock" modification. This is pretty common, as you can make more $$ parting out a modified vehicle and selling it stock than selling it as-is.

    These aren't cars that are babied. They get driven hard on a somewhat regular basis. Get a compression/leakdown test performed. Make the test contingent on the sale of the vehicle - if it passes, you'll pay for the cost of the test; if not, the seller pays for it but has it available for future potential buyers.
