    first ask yourself......

What are your goals for the car? Are you looking at engine performace? suspension?

This is one path (of many):
If you are planning on going engine performance the basics are, replace your uppipe with one that is catless. you can go either aftermarket or go with one from an STi, or an 06-07 WRX. Get yourself a Cobb AP and reflash to Stage 1. You can skip this step and get yourself a TBE (includes downpipe (bellmouth or divorced) and CBE) and jump to Stage 2 and just bypass stage 1. Stage 2 can be acheived with just an aftermarket downpipe though (Cobb, Helix, Invidia, etc...)

    Suspension:
Replace your sway bars with aftermarket (Perrin, Cobb, etc...) and upgrade your endlinks. If you replace your springs with aftermarket ones to lower the car it is best to replace your struts as well as many springs are too harsh for your stock struts. Tower bars should be your last add on.

Stay away from blow off valves!!! They may sound cool but are not meant for a Subaru unless you are pushing major HP and are tuned for one. Your stock BPV will work just fine. An aftermarket intake is not necessary as the stock air box is good for over 350hp (money can be better spent elsewhere)

The first thing you should do is a lot of reading/researching.

...A lot of reading, so you can decide what mods cater to your needs, wants, and budget. Listening to a bunch of people spout off what they'd do to your car won't get you anywhere if you don't want the same things, and if you don't know what the mods do and why you do them.

What do you want out of the car?

What kind of a trade off is acceptable to you in terms of increasing noise, increasing/decreasing fuel economy, increasing/decreasing reliability, calling more attention to the car/making it less conspicuous...?

How much money do you want to spend now, later, in the long term?

How proficient/comfortable are you working on the car yourself? Labor costs and available trustworthy shops could be a big concern. Also, many shops may not do certain mods, as many are illegal.

    Congrats, and welcome!

    -Nick

Wait, wait, wait, is it an 03 WRX and you're saying it's stock and made a typo, or are you saying it's an 03 WRX TS?

03 wrx TS is a model overseas that we dont have here in the US IIRC

edit: apparently we do have it here. i googled it and its a "ts sport wagon" hmm.

That's why I was asking, it's a 2.5 TS, it's the wagon version of the RS. So, if he bought a 2003 "WRX TS" it's not a WRX at all, just an N/A wagon, which would be sad becuase he would have had to have been misled on the sale.
