Hello everyone!
Just put a down payment on a 2009 new wrx. I'll be able to pick it up next Saturday! I can hardly contain myself! (I'm in VA, and I'll have to drive up to PA to pick it up.)
Its a SWP with the SPT exhaust package and short throw shifter.
I've wanted to get a WRX since I first saw the bugeyes like 5 years ago. I just graduated school in May and finally have the money to get one!
EDIT: Photos added!!

Going From a RX-7 to a WRX is like going from Purgatory to Heaven
Thanks for the replies. I'll bring my camera to the dealership!
Definitely NOT trying to get a ticket on the way home... I noticed in the manual that it says not to drive at a the same RPM in the break-in period... I'm driving 400 miles on the highway - is this going to be an issue?![]()
The 400 miles shouldn't be an issue if you don't set the cruise controll and just knock out the entire trip as fast as possible. The break-in period is the time that your bearings will find their groove patterns and start to seat themselves. Talk the drive nice and leisurely, you may even want to take the back roads home, or a scenic highway trip, it will also help you to get in tune with the car itself. I don't think the 5mi test drive you took was sufficient to know all the little sounds and where the sweet spot is to shift.
Bottom line, take your time and when you fill up check the oil.
Grats on the new ride though, I love my 09
Cool,by the time you get home your car will be almost halfway to the breakin miles. Have fun.![]()

Dont take delivery of it if it is a july/aug 08 build date. look on the inside of the driver door for the date.
many troubles lie ahead of you if it is build during those months.
Phew, build date of 02/09, I'm safe! Two days until I can get it........ I can't wait!!![]()
So, it's done... I finally have the car I've been dreaming of for years!I loooove the SPT exhaust... it's not loud but it definitely purrs. I've very happy.
On the way to the dealership, I saw about 5 wrx's of various years. However, this one at a NOVA gas station I just had to take some pics of.
I spy a sexy bugeye
Here are the pics I took at the dealership while they were messing with my 2002 chevy prizm tradein.
