Newbie: How to tell between a Standard and STi engine

Hello,

I'm currently looking at a 2004 WRX Wagon that has had a lot of modifications. I was wondering how you can tell if it is the standard WRX engine or the STi engine. It has the Sti inter cooler but... Is there a way to tell? Thanks.

stis have red intake manifolds. that wrx does not.
