Newbie 2 the Subee.. i think i have a problem

Hello all! I finally picked up my 1st WRX Impreza. It's an '03 with 86,xxx miles. I gotta say this car got balls! I picked up from San Diego and drove it up to L.A. I made it with no problems at all. Until the day after.. I took it out for a spin, i did run the a/c, and when i got back it seemed to be idling pretty high (2k rpm). Is this normal?

No. Does it still do this? Does it do this when the A/C is on only?

no not always. its hard to predict when it does or going to. I drove about 60 miles today with the ac on. so i'm guessing it happens when i run my ac. i read somewhere that it could be my iavc?

any maintenance tips would also be appreciated. I will be driving almost 60-80 miles a day for 2 years, so any advice would help.

It could be idle control, yes. It could also be the throttle cable itself, particularly the link to the cruise control. Both have happened to people.

Get the car up to the maintenance schedule stated in the owner's manual using authentic parts. Overall reliability is good for cars correctly maintained.
