    first time sideways

HI i owe my subby less than a month and today i tried some rally on dusty road.....i was scared to make a handbrake u-turn,but i put it sideways on the corner entrance .... very unusual filling, i was going not fast on the first gear, but still impressed. But i don't want to kill my car fast, so next time i will try it on the snow, with less harm to tires....
How do u guys make a donuts ? I want to try it someday, but not shure how and what conditions the best ?

The best conditions are when I drive a different vehicle

When I was a younger man (and lived in MD), I would pull some donuts in a few inches of fresh snow. Many videos exist of WRX owners performing this maneuver on these very Internets.

Don't do donuts!!! on a stock WRX there are many many many accounts of WRX owners doing donuts and blowing the steering pump. When you're at full lock (all the way cranked) you have 13x the pressure as at rest. The seals cant handle the pressure for an extended period of time while you're spinning in circles, and they blow. Especially on older WRX that have been "Worn In"

Dont think you can drift bc you watched a few ken block videos, that man is a professional and his car is specifically designed to handle such insane moves. if you really want to take it sideways, save money and find a driving school and take some lessons in someone elses car

Has this forum gotten a little too puritanical?

I agree with everything listed in the threads you have offered, but even they don't say "don't ever do donuts". So much in life is moderation.

If the guy wants to go out and do some donuts, I say let him. I've never done donuts at full lock, because that sounds like a recipe for disaster, that's why I suggested snow.

Are we not to have fun with our cars?
