    new member need some help

im tryin to buy a 02 wrx from someone and the cars not running right. he claims they took off the intake manifold for powder coating and hasnt ran right since.the engine light stays on when it starts ,and it wont rev over 3500rpm and dies when you give it a little bit of gas.he said it could be a vaccum leak around the intake.the car has front mount intercooler, sti turbo with the top mount manifold, manual boost control and thats all the info i could get.can this car be an easy fix or is it in some kind of limp mode i own a nissan ser and would like to wrx if the parts arnt gonna kill me price wise to make it run proper.

or something that was modded correctly.

If you even think of buying a modded car, make sure you clear the car with us first (pics r helpful!). There are a few mods that really stick out as someone didn't know what the hell they were doing.

dont be impatient to get the car, and dont plan on taking the cheap way out. it could be months till you find the right car for the best cost. find something stock with low miles. why spend the money when your going to be under the hood biting your lip, rather than enjoying the ride.

    i been through this

My car was all messed up when i bought it. It took me a year and a few thousand to make it perfect.

Now my car has a brand new evoIII 16G, STi tranny and drivetrain, and its pretty quick. Do i regret buying this car?

I couldve had an STi and spent less money.
