    reliable??

i am thinking about getting either a 02 wrx that i found and it has about 94,000 miles on it or a gti vr6 that has around 74,000 miles.

so my question is how reliable is the wrx. i am only 19 and dont have much money after my car payments/insurance. any help/comments will help thanks.

I would never buy a VW, ever.

With that said, the WRX's tranny is known to be a bit weak. If you drive smoothly and take care of it, then you should be good.

damn im getting nervous because the car (wrx) is at an auction and you cant test drive them before hand, you can just start them up. but all the cars at the auction atleast pass smog. i will get a carfax on the car but still. ugh i dont know what to do.

i dont know about the auctions there or if the same rules apply, but here in FL- cars get a 180 point inspection or something like that & if anything is mechanically wrong after you take it home- you have 3 days to contact the seller & they must take action.

anyway- if the car was well maintained- 90k is NOTHING. these cars (when treated nicely) will make it to over 200,000

VW has a lot of problems, especially the older they get. Mostly electrical.

I myself wouldn't buy a vw, but everyone is different.

I love what I drive right now.

ok well i dont think i will bid higher than 7,000. because after the buyer fees and stuff it will be about 9,000. and i if i dont get this one i will probably get a blue 03 wrx with 105,000 miles from a used car lot so that way it is up to par and i could maybe get the warranty.
