    need help asap (02 wrx)

I am a noob, im sure we can all get past that. ha. Ive seen the hybrid ej25block w/ej20 heads, im not sure really why any would do this, because i would figure the flow characteristics, and probably more aggresive cams of the STI ej25 would be better than the ej20 heads. anyways..

my question is would it work, and what kind of gains would it yeild, if any, by putting the ej25 heads on a ej20 block? the reason I ask is because I have a 02 wrx, with some bent valves. Instead of replacing the valves, i am looking at other options that could get a few more ponies. mods already include FMIC, 3in turbo back, header, COBB, stock turbo.

Any help asap would be helpful as I am without a car until this is fixxed!!

I have never heard of 2.5L heads on a 2.0L block, but I don't think it's possible because of AVCS

I just double checked... because of the design of the STi engine, it's not possible. The AVCS wasn't ever on board 2002-2005 US spec 2.0L engines and the STi and 2006+ WRXs all have AVCS. More specifically the EJ207, EJ255 and EJ257 Impreza engines came with AVCS.

if its any consulation i have 2 ej20 heads that u can port and polish then put on.(compelments of a spun bearing) as for the ej25 heads on a ej20, wouldn't it just be easier to buy a longblock or even better an STI. i know the ej20 motors are not that strong so why try to beaf up the top end of the motor when the low end is already known to be weak.
