    new 09 rex

just picked up my 09 swp 5 door rex yesterday. her name is nimbus. been stalling the thing though. heard some cringe-inducing clunking once or twice but no smell of a burning clutch. dunno if i should be worried. how long does it take to get use to this thing? i drove my bud's gti no problem.

    swp ftw!!

but you just have to give it a bit more gas. Remember, you're powering 4 wheels unlike the gti.

Clunking is not normal... Where is it coming from?

Also, why are you stalling it? Just not used to the clutch on it yet?

doesn't make the noise constantly. just did it a couple times when i stalled. for example, when i tried starting from third gear accidentally (i know, i'm a noob). sounded like the pressure plate. yeah, i think i'm just not use to it. hondas and vdubs i drive fine.

I stalled my new '09 a few times the first couple of times I drove it too. I just hadn't gotten used to the clutch point and giving it a little more juice because of the AWD.

I was used to driving a 330i so way different, so I can relate. Just find a parking lot and practice.
