The premium stock sound is a huge improvement... Though I've been having iPod loudness issues. With the volume up to the max on both the iPod and the car, it still isn't as loud as it gets with CDs... I gotta use the AUX video inputs to plug in the iPod, which probably is the reason.

Yeah, stock nav screen...I debated buying the car because the nav adds a grand or so to the price and I don't use the maps often... But just the touchscreen alone gives you such quick control over EVERYTHING. DEF WORTH IT.

If you have the iPod interface with the stock stereo, it's a big improvement over the AUX in for use with iPods IMO.

I was looking into getting the nav package for mine as well, since controlling the iPod with the touchscreen is awesome. Plus I actually use the navigation and maps on a daily basis.
But I just couldn't justify spending THAT much money to get that upgrade. It was something like 2500 bucks?? Since you only paid an extra grand for it, that's a pretty good deal!

I ended up putting in a new Kenwood DNX-5120 myself, when all was said and done I spend under $700 for what I think is a better unit with Garmin navigation.

Holy crap, I've been looking for something like that. Thanks for the model number. Found one new on ebay for $510...thinking about picking it up. Does it get satellite lock fairly quickly?

Sounds like a pretty good price... might drop more since theyre discontinued now. I bought mine for 600 from al-eds.com (authorized kenwood retailer)

Unless the car has been off for more than a day, satellite fix is really quick. If not, it takes about a minute.

Install was very straightforward, and fun!

Sweet, I think I may pick one up. I don't think my car will ever be shut off for more than 5 hours.
