The thing with the suspension is highly subjective. If you're an average, commuting professional, and wanted a WRX because it threw some sport into the mix, then it may be fine. It's a big compromise; an attempt to be comfortable and still be able to go around a curve with gusto.

I wound up modding the suspensions on both of my WRX's because they were too soft. Seems to me that the stock suspension can be radically improved for not that much money.

And +1 to Al's comment. The WRX is nowhere close to being a rally car. Marketing at its finest.
