sorry no pics yet, but next week i will be picking up a new to me 2002 WRX...i'm new to the subie scene and would like to know what are some of the pro's and con's to this car...i've mostly been a VW guy, but i currently have an E36 M3 and a Civic EK hatch and now i am picking this car up as another toy....any tips or info would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance.

oh yeah, the forum is a little different then what i'm used to (vwvortex and bimmerforums) so bare with me please, as i am still a n00b. lol. thanks again!

Congrats on the buy. The big CON for the 02 is a weak tranny.

thank u!!! weak tranny aye? does this go for both manual and auto? how many miles do they usually last for and what are some of the early signs of a bad tranny on these cars?

It applies mainly to the manual. As for miles there isn't a distinctive breaking point. It's all in how you drive it. the trans will hold fine in most cases. It's when you start modding and making big power where you will run into the issues. So long as you drive it respectfully you should be fine. Look for issues with shifting (could be clutch issue also) but if the car "pops" out of gear then you have a trans issue.
