Anyways, my goal is to eventually have about 450awhp (reliable), widebody (but clean).
if thats your goal you might want to start with an STi and not a wrx.

I did look at it, and honestly I think a stage 1 09 and most certainly stage 2 would smash that set up all day. Particularly in a lap around the track given the lack of suspension mods.

You think a stage two 2009 would "smash" a vehicle that has a 49lb turbo installed? Now that we know your experience and intelligence in the Subaru world, I implore you to spend some time reading the whole entire forum before even contemplating writing a single post again.

I would agree - STi is a better and safer platform to build over 400+ whp. I believe all 05s+ are 2.5L displacement.. but I think pre-07 was the "glass transmission" rumor, maybe that was only wrxs.

I believe the 09 issue has been addressed enough, but I can't wait for Poohbear to roll through

I'm no turbocharger guru, but my understanding is that the SuperZilla's in that range are for putting down 400+whp, with the right supporting mods, right?

Just to clear things up for you, here's the animal we're talking about. It's, umm, larger than your turbocharger:

I'm well aware that it's bigger. I dont see a dyno posted, so really none of us know how much awhp he's pushing but anything near 400 and that wrx transmission is toast anyways !

And a typical stage two sti with a good tune can range anywhere in the 320-340 awhp 360-380wtq range. I'm not an expert on 09's but I'm sure they could probably put out similar numbers.

Nice, looking forward to your dyno. Hope you pull out some nasty numbers. Should be interesting to see the least. You'll probably have the best numbers for an 08 to date.
