    Yooo!!!!!

    Wassup, I got my 08 WRX 2 weeks ago, on lease for 3 years, but probably gonna buy it, since i am enlisted in USMC, and boot in a year. So far i have only gotten my windows tinted, looking to replace the exhaust, and some nice rims.

    I really dont know what cat back, and cat less, mean, niether what headers, or whatever mean. I am currently taking auto-tech ,but feel free to enlighten me.

    BTW this is my first car, and am paying about $400 a month, damn high insurance.

    Here's a nice diagram for which to get your learn on. Your car differs slightly because it has a duel exit cat back and has no cat in the up pipe, but you'll get the idea. Also, ignore everything before the intake manifold, it's a little different on your car. (come to think of it, some one should take the liberty of updated that diagram for the '08+ wrx)



    As you can see, a cat back is the exhaust from the last catalytic converter back. Cat-less means no cats. As in you have replaced all your exhaust pieces that contained cats from the factory, with after market units that contain no cats.
    The term 'header' is used to refer to the driver and passenger side exhaust manifold and the cross over pipe (front exhaust pipe) as one piece. When you buy an after market header, it is one piece.

    welcome! keep reading the site, you'll learn a lot.

    If you really do decide on keeping the car, you might want to look into buying out lease. You should save a couple grand over the period of lease and then financing the end of term buyout.

    Wait though to see if you might want an STI later.
