    Soon to be STi owner!!

Hey everyone! Im enlisted with the U.S. Air Force and am leaving for basic in the next week or so. I've got some money saved up and when im away i'll have eevn more to save since i dont have any bills and i will still have pretty much no expesnses. so i've been debating on either a '06-'07 STi or E46 m3. I've pretty much decided on the subie. i'm looking forward to learning as much as I can about this sexy beast before I leave as well as when im gone. Soon i'll have one of my own

Am I the only one on this sight that sees the performance advantage of the E46 M3 over the STI?

If you ever drive in snow get an STI, if not ///M3 hands down

edit:just saw you live in FL....get an M3

the E46 M3 has poor brakes unless you have the uprated CSL version (which is costly) and you need to rev it up to 4000 rpm for the power..

Wouldn't the large difference in price be a determining factor? I have always been a Bimmer fan and would love to own an M3, but I would soon be served my divorce papers. A lot of people say that BMW's are difficult to work on, even if you know how, but that wouldn't deter me.

yeah the price diffrence is too high. my budeget is around 25,000 i can find an m3 for that much but they have too many miles. I can find most STi's around my area here for less than 23k for an 06' with around 30kmiles. I'd love to rock the m3 maybe i'll be about to find one i dunno, love to have an alpinewhite/imola red leather one 6mt ofcorse!. If not i'll be more than happy to have an Sti

Welcome man, I would go for the sti imo. The m3 are some kick ass cars, but just look at everything as a hole. Like Bmws once warranty is gone, they cost a crap load to fix.

But either way your still getting a kickass car. But choose wisely, and dont do what I did and buy a expensive car right out of basic. It sounded like a good idea at the time but it really isnt. I would say wait untill you get some rank. I have had my Wrx for 2 and half years. Wasnt untill I got my e-4 that I was really able to afford to do anything to it other then stupid little mods that cost next to nothing.

But have fun in the chair force. and im going to guess Cj05 is in the army just like me since there in el paso.
