i'm really confused as to what youre asking.

the "round headlight" body style is either an 02 or an 03, but i'm not sure what you mean by "regular"

I'm asking what the difference between this model

And this model WRX (besides that his one is a STI, but those headlights)

From reading the link Subie do V2.0 posted I think all that is different is the year that they were made.

You are correct. There is also the "Hawkeye" 2006 & 2007, and the "Vageye"(did I get that right?) 2008 & 2009. Although there were some engine changes, etc over the diffferent years as well.

"Hawkeye" is what the 06-07 owners wanted them called, "Vageye" is what stuck. "Edselface" was another nickname tossed around.

There are differences from year to year. Start searching and you'll find plenty I'm sure. I am no expert, but I believe the ECU in the 2002 is 16-bit, but in later years a 32-bit model ECU was used. The 2002 has a notoriously weak transmission that does not tolerate abuse well. I broke mine, but there are people making more power than me who still have the stock trans.

The 2002-2003 is the best looking of the bunch in my opinion.

I'm not sure what nickname is being used for the 2008-2009, but it sure is ugly. The wagon looks like a Toyota Matrix and the Sedan isn't winning any beauty contests either. Then again, when the 2002's first came out here I thought they were odd looking and eventually it grew on me. Subaru seems to have an odd strategy with the Impreza. Each generational revision is uglier than the last, but with more goodies. I think it helps instill loyalty since those who already own them are glad theirs aren't as ugly as the following model, but still feel jealous about the newer features.
Torch Red 2002 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 46k mi.
Black 2002 Subaru Impreza WRX 6-speed 94k mi. my mod list
10/08/2006 - 14.089@103.01 (5-speed with well worn clutch, no launch)
"Six stars gleaming, five speeds breaking, four tires chirping, three differentials working, two liters screaming, one turbo boosting... it's what makes a Subaru all-wheel-drive, all we'll drive."

Well hello Micah. Thanks for the info. I never really paid attention to "those other models."

    You're just biased.
