    Tires for an 08 wrx

I just bought an 08 wrx sedan and was looking to get wider tires and possibly a set of rims. The car comes stock with 205 50 17's. I was thinking of trying 255 40 17's... Anyone know if this size tire will fit the 08 rims? Or do you for see any problems with this size tire?

I am surprised the 08s actually went down in tire size from 07, and higher profile. Stock 07 is 215/45.

Why is the biggest you can go 225? Does it interfere with the side wall? Also I was looking that the 08 STI comes stock with 255 45 18's... Any ideas?
