    Boost Creap

My local Scoob dealer tels me the following farry tale. "My 2005 WRX STI 2.0L with a IHI VF34 turbo" use to boost 1.1 bar, after fitting a SPT(Bosal) down pipe with complete exhaust it now creaps (spikes) to 1.8 bar. He claims its because of the down pipe. Are the VF30 series turbo's that badThis morning she desided limp mode is cool.I smell a devorce

Thats no fairy tail my friend, its very possible. More common on the 2.5 liter motors, but as you have an STi you may see it happen.

Is your downpipe catted or catless?

A catted downpipe as well as a stage 2 flash to your ECU will help the problem. As well as make putting a downpipe on there worthwhile.

Another thing you should find out is if there is a cat in your up pipe. If there is, that should re replaced with a catless.

    SPT doesn't sell a downpipe - it's probably Bosal.

Did you eliminate the "3rd cat"?

They are made in Pretoria South Africa by Bosal. In 1997 it was an option on our GC8's it was called a SPT sports exhaust (Downpipe, centre section, and back box) so in South Africa you can still buy the SPT downpipe. This is for right hand drive aplication(Devorced pipe sit's higher and closer to the downpipe so it does not touch stearing rod). Its all the same thing.

Don't apologize for the clarification. A lot people on this site don't look at the location in a person's profile and assume the car is USDM. I would go with a catted downpipe and get a tune. That should keep the creep away.
