Welcome. I heard car theft in Johannesburg is out of this world. I read an article in Car and Driver a few years back about a company that sells Anti-theft deterrent systems. Aka: Bone breakers...... Something about a spring loaded bar that is located below a door that swings a metal rod out and hits the attacker in the shins! I also read about one that was a flame thrower that came out from under the door sill. Have you ever seen one of these in action??

Sry for the weird post. Just trying to confirm what I had read.

lol... yeah... it was a thought a few years back, but government did not indorce it... the flame thrower was fitted to the BMW 540i, it was known as a "protection model"...

The theft around the country is really high with the syndicates that operate.

I haven't heard of anyone fitting those devices to the vehicles here. It might be the odd one or special request.
