    Question help me out please

Hey guys new to the forums and the subaru world so i guess this could be my intro. I just picked up a JDM 92 wrx and have a few quetions.
Ive tried searching everywhere on this site to find some help with my car but everything seems to be related to the newer cars and at that, non jdm.
My question is, is the motor from the JDM car the same as USDM? the reason i ask this is for things such as oil change, buying parts for it etc. and i dont wanna get say the wrong oil filter or what not. Im sorry for such a noob question but ive been looking for like a week and havent found much related to something along this topic. Please keep your sarcastic remarks to yourself, helpful info only please. Thanks guys and gals!

There are no 92 USDM WRXs because the WRX did not hit the US until the 2002MY. Therefore knowledge on WRXs prior to that, is going to be VERY limited on most sites that are US based. Knowledge on 1992 "JDM" WRXs on US based sites (like this one) will be even more limited (read: practically zilch).

I would try searching/posting on some non-US based websites, since the WRX has been in other places (like the UK & Australia) for years prior to US.

Just to let you know the 1992 WRX was one of the first produced. And would have defo been an import. I'll have to check that but pretty sure there was a limited number produced running 240 bhp

    engine noise

If any body can help. I got a tapping noise in the engine on my wrx07 the mechanic told me that is normal since the car was parked for more than six months, but I doubt that an engine will developed this noise on by being park and get a blown valve cover or someting worse???

Yes sometimes when car has been sat for long periods the oil will drain right down into the sump, (you will hear the engine noise definitely more pronounced)
so you will have to let car warm up slowly , so the oil has time to get around and lubricate the drier places, also i would recommend once shes warmed up n ready to go get a complete oil change, oil filter and air filter.
