Hello, all.
I don't have an WRX (bug-eyed) yet, but I am planning on getting one real soon. The 02-04 has grown on me in the past few months. I was an previous own of an 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse RS. This is an big step for me from FWD auto to AWD manual, but I've driven manuals in the past so it's not really a problem, although launching AWD manual is an problem for me.
Anyways, I appreciate the support and hope to be an help or service to anyone, since I'm going to schoo for Automotive and Deisel Technology at Universal Technical Institute.
Have an great day guys, Later.
Welcome to the club and good luck on getting your bugeye!

SUCH IS MANGO!
Welcome - nice wagon!
The secret to launching is... don't. The least expensive method is to slip the clutch at around 4200rpm - you will need new clutches often, but it's much cheaper than other methods of launching.
My big thread: The Used WRX Buying Checklist - Please Contribute!
My current car: 2002 WRB WRX Wagon.
Mods: GM BCS, Carberry SD rom, uppipe, AEM UEGO, Klunk Killer, F+R shifter bushings, head unit
The car still fairly drives new. The driver side door is a little damaged from what looked like some one tried to break in it. The under carriage has some road rust. Also the radio wasn't hooked up, in fact the wires were cut. The clutch pedal feels like the master cylinder is leaking internally a little so the shifter will try to initially grind when engaging 1st gear. Hand brake's kinda doesn't work efficiently. Other then that the car runs and the clutch still hooks, extremely low slip.
I know it's got an aftermarket parts.
a aftermarket Clutch
Fairly new tires with plenty of tread on them
Cobb exhaust (which is causing a low idle)
Gauges on the dash
Everything else is stock.
I got it for 5400 taxes and title included. Seems a little more for what's it's worth, but I could afford it for now.
I did get the radio fixed.
When I get some more money, I'll get the master cylinder swapped. Buy an Apexi N1 exhaust seems to be the best for stock.
I am gonna try to take it to a body shop in Chicago to see if I can get the damage on the driver side door fixed.
I'm gonna try to keep this WRX wagon as stock as possible for a long time because it's a DD for me.
My race car (seriously) is a 90 AWD DSM. I have a friend (prior dragster) building this car for me. Built motor, 4 bolt rear end, FMIC, soon rebuilt trans, Precision turbo I think it's a 50 trim.
All I need is 1600cc injectors, 38mm wastegate, EPROM ECU (and tune), recirculating BOV, and a short shifter and that car will be ready to run 10s.
Don't take this the wrong way, I'm not trying to be a show off, just building a car for my own benefit. No competition here, just a friendly guy looking to mingle make friends and self improvement.
