    New Guy!

    Hi,

I am definitly new, just started leasing a new 08 STI last monday, and god do I love this car.

I just wanted to say hi, i am looking into chipping it as long as i can reset the ecu before each time i take it in to get service or return the lease, other then that I plan on leaving it stock.

    Hows everyone else.

    Welcome to the club!

Just curious why do you lease
Tyler - Aspen White 04' STI
    Blobeye Syndicate #40
    Stage 2 - 312HP ~ 339 lb ft. torque
    Live Gamertag - TMANN05
NOTE: If you run a turbocharger beyond itís compressor efficiency range, it will turn into a flame thrower.

Because the job I do leasing is a tax right off. Also if i dont like the car in a couple years, i can trade it in for something else, I can also purchase it at any time.

I am a contacted labor, so the 500+ $ a month extra right off saves me on taxes this year. Leasing a new car was a good financial decision for me personally. I might decide next year I would rather buy the car and mod it out, but as for right now leasing is just great for me.

Why do newer posts go to the top... can i change the format so they are at the bottom? *EDIT found it.

    Welcome to the club!

Cobb is pretty popular, along with Opensource. There are a few others, but it seems that Cobb and XPT are used the most frequently of them all.

the version 2 accessport will let you do the things you mentioned.. before you do anything, the AP will load your stock set up on there so you can switch back if need be

the version 1 accessport has stock maps to choose from but might never be "truely" stock again.

you can also choose maps if you decide to upgrade the turbo as well. heres a list of the maps for an 07. i'm sure they'll be the same for the 08

cobb . wrx accessport . map listing

I was checking it out and Cobb is 700$ for tuner, i was supprised but my car gets mad torque and hp compared to a 350z... and better insurance too...

Can i do a blow off valve easily on my 08 STI with out ****ing up the leasing... its just a bolt on right?

    All hope is lost.

Use the search tool to find out about BOVs.

no no no no no to the BOV.

whether you have a lease or you own your car, its a horrible choice.

    read through this:

    http://www.clubwrx.net/forums/engine...ov-thread.html

specifically the section on the first page entitled: "Are there any downsides to aftermarket BOVs?"

and "Are there any negative effects with aftermarket BOVs?"
