Welcome, what kind of Nissan you coming from?

avoid 3 wrx "sins" - turbo timer, cold air intake and blow off valves

    good luck on the purchase

I wouldn't call a turbo timer a "sin". It doesn't hurt anything, it's just unnecessary.

I understand the techincal aspects of the bov but could someone clarify the TBE without engine management. I just hear people say it's a terrible thing with no technical explanation so I figure I ask for my own knowledge.

I believe one of the biggest problems with TBE without EM is boost creep.

from what i read it sounds as if boost creep cant be prevented after you install a TBE. I thought you could prevent it with a reflash using the accessport?

NOTE: If you run a turbocharger beyond itís compressor efficiency range, it will turn into a flame thrower.

you are correct he just asked for the problems with TBE if no EM was present.

I "heard" that the 06/07 model years were more prone to boost creep with catless DPs. In general, the HP gain of catless versus high-flow isn't worth chancing not getting inspection stickers (at least where I live).
