    wheel width

I have heard from various sources that I would be able to fit 17 or 18 8 1/2" without having to roll the fenders on my 06 Rex. What offset and are 17" or 18" better for performance? What is the widest I can go? Is wider always better? Please help. I hear so many different things.

17's are better for performance but as far as width I have no idea. I'm looking to buy rims in the next year too so I am trying to find out as well since I have an 07 rex.

17 x 8 you can fit with a 225. I think any wider might be a bit overkill.

You can do it with some stiff springs(coilovers) or aggressive camber. If you don't really need that extra performance though an 8" wheel is fine.

thanks for the replies guys. I have looked at a lot of wheels and it seems like I'm always leaning to a flashy type fat lipped wheel. Am I the only one?can someone suggest some good fairly priced wheels besides rota and grams. Thanks

Personally, I like these wheels by MB:

the blingy lip is going out of style. I wouldn't rock one unless you can fit a cig pack in there anyway. Those MB wheels just started getting popular and for the price you cant beat it.
