    manual boost controller assistance

    i just bought a turbo xs manual boost controller, i was wondering if the boost spikes are a worry and if there is a way to keep a certain psi held for all my gears?? any help would be greatly apprieciated.

    Welcome to ClubWRX.
    Manual Boost controllers are not a very good way to increase boost. They add pressure (air) without increasing fuel, this leads to detonation (which is bad).

    The best way to increase boost safely is to get an AccesPort from http://cobbtuning.com

    Also, CAI's and BOV's are bad.

    Sorry I wasn't able to directly answer your question, I never used a MBC on my wrx.

    All quite true. Do your WRX a favor and stop using the MBC.

    The AccessPort is the easiest to use.

    ok well i guess i should of put what i already have done, sorry.
    i have turbo back exhaust, i do have the cobb accessport, and i also have cobb intake. so does that help. i havent read anything bad about manual boost controllers. any info would help. thanks.

    Its your car, if you want to risk your car, go ahead and crank the boost. If you care about it, read those links, learn and apply the info. I'd remove it and continue with the cobb ap maps. If you want more power, get a protune or turbo upgrade.

    i apprieciate the help guys, i think i'll take your advice, and remove it. i do have a question though, you were saying that it would need more fuel to compensate for the air correct? what do u think i would need to compensate for it. injectors?, fuel pump?, fuel rail?

    The Accessport takes care of all the adjustments needed. Just get in, drive and have fun (safely).

    Presently, fuel system hardware upgrades should not be needed with your set up.

    With your current mods you should only need to make sure you have the proper ecu map for your setup. Another option would be a custom tune by somebody that knows what they are doing.

    +1, A GM BCS will yeld higher PSI when tunned right.


    Or a bigger turbo.
