Just purchased a white '06 sti last night. First Subaru ever owning so im pretty new. I know it has a cai. The exhaust seems loud to be just stock, but its a stock tip. not sure about that. other than that, i love it so far!

without the code i can only guess whats causing it.

but It might be that the CEL and the lean issues are from the Cold air intake, if you can get a stock intake for it it would probobly solve the CEL issues, also if there is an catless exhaust on it there could be boost creep issues.

You can disable a CEL code with a tactrix/laptop.

You just need to go to Autozone or something to get the code pulled.

he could even get a custom stage 1 map made, but that wont relocate the maf to a location that it gets the proper readings will it?

i dont want to go through all of that. honestly, i've done my share of modding, i really just want a stock sti. they are so hard to find, so i had to take this. ill probably just buy a stock airbox.. along with figuring out what kind of exhaust work is done, and put that back to stock too. so if anyone knows where i can get the full stock airbox, let me know. i would rather trade for someone that wants the cai.. but i dont really care. im pretty sure thats everything thats been tampered with. interior is all stock thankfully.

i read that even the spt short ram intake is bad for the sti becaus the stock airbox on an sti has a bigger tube? around the MAF sensor

i would go back to stock too.
