    Greetings from another Subie Nubie!

Live in Orange County, New York.
Purchased a 2003 WRX, Yellow with Black/Yellow Leather interior, loaded with everything but sunroof. It has less than 60k on it and is immaculate other than small ding/dent on hood in front of scoop that I had too find and slight fading of embroidering on the seat backs.
It is bone stock and am interested in getting a few more ponies from the powerplant. Is there any minor tweaking I can do to electronics and airbox/intake to get 10-30 more hp without changing mechanical parts?
Any help is deeply appreciated and glad to be part of IMO the hottest set of wheels I can realistically own.
    Thanks ahead of time!!

    Welcome to the forum.
...I see that my WRX has 3 friggin' cats?!

Anyway, I would prefer to keep my car on the quieter side,
is it a bad idea to go with a non-cat up and down pipe but keep it catted after downpipe? Better if up/downpipes catted and rest uncatted intending to use stock muffler or "quiet" aftermarket?
Eliminate all cats?? No problem for NY inspections?
Will the stock muffler cancel out or drastically hinder these improvements?
You vets must hate us nubies....lol
I would like a couple responses to evaluate.
    Thanx all

Greetings and welcome to the club!

Definitely lose the uppipe cat either by gutting the innards (instructions for doing this safely can be found here) or installing an aftermarket UP. There are many options post turbo. You would do best by searching and reading up on what other have done.
