Another new '08 WRX owner

Happy to join the fold. I bought about a week ago after shopping for 2 months. I have been driving Eclipses until this car (actually still have my last eclipse...was not getting great trade money so why not keep it?)

Looked at a couple new '07 STis that were still around but went with the new one instead (could not take the wing and I actually like the newer style). I used to race (National Karting and Barber Dodge) but went back to school so this is as close as I get now...however I am not a mechanic ...so was wondering what mods are easy and do the most...

Just looking at the new car, it "looks" to me like it could take 18 x 8 wheels with no changes.

I am interested in any advice there might be to uprgrade the power etc...keeping in mind that I have never modified a car before

I want to change the wheels next. do you think the 18's will work without changing anything else?

These are 18x8 w/ 225/40/18's on them. Nothing has been done to the suspension or anything.

Actually, it looks like we will have very similar vehicles. Mine I also have a white w/premium package...the dealer is kind of pissing me off though as I paid for everything and then arranged to pick it up and am still waiting

actually I see you have a 02 eclipse...I kept my O1 GT...surprisingly, it was my wife's suggestion!! What a great girl! Once I catch the modification bug, she may feel differently.

A couple of questions...First, what brand are those and do they come in silver? and second, if they take the 18x8s so well, could you just not get the STi's 18x8.5 and bolt them on

1) Rota P45F's, they come in many colors. www.subydude.com
2) 2005 through 2008 STI bolt pattern is 5x114.3 the WRX is 5x100 wont fit.
2a) 2004 STI rims *WILL* fit
3) No fender or suspension rub

im thinking about getting Enkei RSVs 18s with bronze
and im getting AP stage 2 end of february
hope that will make some differences
cuz i heard 08 maps are crap

Have to admit...I have not wrapped my head around the mods yet. What is in the APstage 2? Who do you get to do the work? and does it kill the warranty? Guessing this has been covered in the links that others have posted but I have not been able to go through all of them yet.

Yea i put snow tires on my stock rims and then I got a bubble in one so i had to swap quick.
