level 2, level 3, what the heck does that mean, exactly?

I keep seeing references to level 1, level 2, level 3 modded vehicles, but have no idea what that means? Tried searching forums to no avail. Just purchased 04 STI and want to find some simple mods to boost HP by about 20-30. Going to start with intake/outtake but wondering what the levels are and what types of mods are in each.

Any help/comments are appreciated.

Welcome to the club! Congrats on the purchase, 04 STi's are great.

So basically most stage kits are as follows, generally.

Stage 1: Reflash ECU with either ECUTEK, COBB ACCESSPORT, or TurboXS UTEC.

Stage 2 is the Engine management system stated about with a catless or hi flow cat/Turbo back exhaust system.

Stage 3 Generally consists of the above stated with a walbro fuel pump, injectors, TMIC (top mount intercooler) and a protune

Stage 4 Generally is the above items with a new bigger turbo kit. and a pro tune.

I think you are referring to stage 1 and stage XXXX

Level is not common terminology
