Talking New Guy -- 2004 WRX

    Hey guys,

I just picked up a 2004 WRB WRX with 38k on the clock. It's in awesome condition, it was a one owner car who was 35 and only had it for AWD in the snow. He had a bike rack on it and it still has a couple trunk marks to prove it .

I traded in a modded 97 SC2 saturn and my previous hangout was turbosaturns.net. I had complete bolt-ons, decent amount of parts, just no hardcore internals and a 75 NX wet shot.

So far I love the subby, I have yearning for one for years and was finally able to afford it. I have no doubt I'll eventually start modding it but my big question is do you guys have a guide as far as driving, shifting, etc for WRX's. I searched and couldn't really find anything.

Buy anyway glad to be here...and youll see me alot Pictures soon!

well my saturn wasn't turboed...just lots of mods and a nitrous kit...but I had many friends that had turboed saturns. The biggest thing im getting used to is AWD. In the Saturn I was ripping the tires loose while spraying and in a turboed saturn even just a T3 running 7 psi would be molesting tires. So the traction is the biggest difference. Both would get boost around 3500 so theres not much difference there.

The power level is great stock but the handling feels strange to me. On my saturn I had eibach springs, KYB GR2 struts, FSTB, RSTB, 16 x 7.5 rims, and nice tires. The saturn felt like it had more grip but it approached the limit quick and then it was completely unreliable....while the subby seems to "sit" more and more predictable approach the limit of grip. I haven't pushed it too hard but thats my feel so far.

So I attached a few pictures of the saturn.

that saturn is a nice looking car!

I haven't owned a performance car like the Subi before. I had a 99 Grand Prix GTP that I "thought" was quick - which got traded in for a minivan

Now, the wife drives the minivan and I traded my 02 Ford Focus for the WRX. For me, the upgrade is obvious. I gotta settle down though - I was hoping that by now that I wouldn't still be punching the gas everytime I get a chance..

well, you have a minivan, of course you want to punch it every chance you get, in a car that wants to do it
