Introduction: T04WRX

Hello everyone.

My name is Tyler, I'm 26 and live in Vancouver, WA. I own a silver 2004 WRX. I am a member of the group TNT (Top Notch Tuners). We just had our last show of the season last weekend, so by next season I'll have a custom audio enclosure in the trunk (still working out details on what kind of amp/subwoofer combo to go with), and a 7" TFT touch-screen for the head unit. Also working on a carbon fiber hood/trunk which I should have next month. Here are a list of the modifications I have thus far:

Here are some pictures from the last show we went to in Gresham and some personal ones. Let me know what you think!.

Note: In the first set of pictures you'll notice some tacky fake red carbon fiber decal accents on the dash and such, they came on the car when I bought it and have since been taken off, along with the Auto Depot license plate frames. :P

Indeed. The carbon fiber sticker was a PITA to get off. I don't understand what would compel someone to put them on in the first place.

Honestly your ecu is more then likely hating the boost controller. The intake and the BOV arent really suggested mods by any means.

Have you checked recently to see what your CELS are?

Confusing. Please explain more on why the ECU would hate the boost controller or the intake. I realize the BOV bypasses recirculation of the turbo air intake, but to my understanding it's minimal. I'm not familiar with what CELS or F&F are, please explain.

Check engine light.

In 04 Subaru had to play with some emission stuff with the ECU. Basically the car doesnt go into OL for a delayed time. Mean while your BC is by passing what the ECU usually wants to do by boosting in the lower rpm range before OL...Not really the best idea.

Not to mention the potential for PT/FB situations if you dont keep an eye on the boost levels.

The CAI intakes usually mess with the MAF sensor and cause issues.

Interesting. I've not had any problems with check engine lights coming on. What does OL, PT/FB mean? Sorry, obviously I'm not caught up with the abbreviations.

All those goodies and you still have the stock BOV

You also saw the wisdom on removing the faux red carbon fiber and plate frames.

I am not feeling the door decals though ... to each their own.

Thanks for the welcome everyone. Indeed the decals are a love 'em or hate 'em with most people. It's the little bit of ricer in me, what can I say. But, it does get the attention of the judges.

OL = open loop mode of ECU.

PTFB = partial throttle full boost condition, which is dangerous because it can cause the car to run very lean.

You need one more door decal. Gotta love the 2004 PSM.
