I have an 04 wrx, and the only rattle I have is in the back somewhere between the head rest and the back window, it drives me crazy when it acts up.
It's all about rally racing, nothing more.
On second thought maybe its all about Rally Racing and Auto-X

I had that noise in my bugeye, told the dealer how pleased I was, and they fixed it, stating it was a known issue with a loose fitting interior trim panel. You might have a look and see if anything looks silly back there, it might fix it.

The engine sound from inside the car is pretty decent. On cold days you can hear the Turbo spool a little. Throw in a DP and you hear it all the time.

I havent heard a stock WRX since April, but mine seems pretty loud when shes up in the RPM's. I need a new exhaust tip tho, all i ever hear is turbo, not much boxer rumble.
