Cobb Ap Question for 06 WRX

I recently purchased this and I was wondering if the 06's needed an initialization connector? It seems I have everything except these connectors. Just wondering if these were needed to flash my ECU?

Don't you have a user's guide? I have an 05 and I do need the initialization connector (white connector) to flash my ECU. I don't know about the 06. Check out the manual.
I might be back in the market for the new STI sedan!

Yeah I got the manual....but it says 2002-2005. The Ap itself is for an 06.

On my 06, it was just dangling in all it's glory under the steering column. it was tied to a white string.

So there was a connector that came with your Ap?

If you didn't receive that white connector, I suggest emailing or calling Cobb about it. There shouldn't be much of a difference between the 2005 and 2006, except maybe few revisions, but it should be the same process of reflashing.

The connector came with the WRX. It was tied underneath the steering column. Mine was specfically behind the "hood release" area.

    Good luck!

Well it seems an initialization connector isn't needed for an 06. I just connected the two green connectors and flashed my ECU. Everything works fine now. I could really feel the difference from stock to stage 1.

Are you sure you dont mean the green pieces that you put together to initate test mode?

A white initlization connector should of came w/ your AP. I cant image the car doesnt require one anymore. Contact Cobb ASAP.

Just verified with Cobb technical support: they said with 2.5L no initialization connectors are required.

If you have an 02-05 then it makes about a 25whp difference, alone. Once you add parts and go up stages its infinite. I'm over 100whp more than stock using the Cobb AP.

If you have an '06 they are saying that Stage 1 is pretty useless since its a 2.5L but just had an UP and TBE and your making amazing gains.
