    turbo cool down

so i have been getting mixed reviews about turbo cool down periods, i have a boost timer but people are telling me that on the stock wrx turbo they arnt really needed. i was just wondering what the consensus on the forums were. for now im keeping the timer on but its kinda a waste of gas so if anyone could forgive my newbness i would apreciate it.

Turbo timers on the wrx (stock turbo atleast) are not needed. The reason's for this are listed here. I usually just take it easy the last few blocks before arriving at my destination.

You dont need one. Turbo timers are only needed on cars that have turbos that are strictly oil cooled. The TD04 is oil and water cooled, and even after the car turns off the coolant will still be flowing through it, but its never a bad idea to hold off on the wot when you get close to your destination.

+1 w/ what everyone said. Coolant does all the work.

A lot of forums are like that, especially the OTHER wrx board. Just make sure you attempt a search before posting a thread and all will be good.
