    boost timer

hi i just bought my first wrx last night after years of drooling and dreaming and i bought a used 2002 wrx sport wagon and it has some aftermarket stuff on it and it all seems pretty straight forward but im not entirely sure what a boost timer does, does it add hp? or help with turbo lag? im brand new to the turbo scene so if everyone could forgive me for my ignorace i would appreciate it thanks

Theres a Boost Controller and a Turbo Timer. 2 seperate things. The boost controller (doesn't work well on a WRX's) allows you to raise boost which initially should give you more HP. A turbo timer (not necessarily needed for a WRX) allows the engine to idle longer after you take the key out of the ignition to cool down the turbo. Hope this helps. If you still have questions, try using the Search Tool up top and see what you find.
