    Talking Our New Legacy Gt

    Finally!!!

After one week of ownership, I got to take my wife's car out for its photo... (we've had rain nearly every day since we got it). I really enjoy driving this car...very smooth and it has some good low end power. We are still keeping the rpm's below the 4,000 mark for the 1st 1,000 miles. I look forward to many years of ownership. See my thread "Subaru isn't Burger King" for the full story of what it took to get this car.

Since it was such a pleasant day, I decided to take the Cobra out for a drive too....(The last time I took the beast out was Oct. '05 for a car show). I hope my schedule allows me more time behind the wheel in the upcoming months.

Why do I have a feeling my wife will be a Subaru hog???

    Enjoy!

Nice choices. What do you have powering the Cobra?

Did you touch up the LGT pic? I thought Garnet Red was Garnet in color, like Burgandy? that looks as bright as my San Remo Red.

Thanks for all the nice comments.

    DOWNXSH1FT,

I know what you mean....the car really does look like a San Remo Red in that pic. I didn't alter the photo. I had a bit too much sun behind me since it was almost noon when I took those pics.

The car is almost burgandy metallic in the shade. Here's another pic of both cars. The Cobra is a darker blue than it appears. I had it painted BMW M5 Le Mans Blue.

    SubeStang,

Cobra is powered by a 2.5 non turbo boxer motor. JK

427 Tunnel Port stroked to 482 cubes. HP was 575 @ 6,000 rpm when we had the motor on the dyno and Torque was at 568 ft lb @ 4,400 rpm. Motor should be around 600 HP now that it has about 2,100 miles on it. 10 MPG on the highway and the worst I got in the city was 3 MPG. THIS CAR CAN DRINK!

Got any pics of your '91 Stang? I'd like to see it. I'm into stangs. I've got a '90 5.0, '97 vert and '68 fastback.

    UofAWRX,

What do the advan Rs look like? My wife isn't a fan of the current wheels and she doesn't like the gaps in the wheelwells.

It's not that light actually. Closer to 2,950 lbs. The motor and heads are made of iron and it a fiberglass body rather than aluminum.

I gave my neighbor who own a WRX STI a spin in the Cobra one day. He was most impressed with the torque the car made. He wished his WRX could generate that much torque. He's supposed to give me a ride in his STI someday...I'm looking forward to it.
