    06 TR from 04 ashes

Hey everybody. Picked up my new 06 TR on saturday and it's beautiful. I loved my 04 and there are a bunch of things about it that I liked better than the new one, but the new 06s feel a bit more solid and the front has since grown on me. The engine is way more smooth than the 2.0, especially down low. It feels like the Legacy GT now except the throws are shorter. Now I just have to burn through another 750 miles worth of break-in Oh well, it'll pay off in the long run.

Very purdy. The look just keeps growing on me I went from dislike -> eehhhh -> it's okay (worth the extra .5l) -> like -> brings a smile to my face when I see it. I think it is positive reinforcement as usually whenever I see mine I get to drive it shortly after.

My thoughts exactly. I didn't like it at all when they first introduced the front. Then I saw them in person for the first time last summer and thought "eh, it isn't half bad." Now I think I like it better than my 04. Still undecided on the taillights though... I'll give it a little time before going ahead and swapping.

My feelings exactly. That's the only thing I *might* change on the exterior of my '06...

I know, it just didn't fare too well against the semi trailer I ran into. Subie VS Semi = OWNED WRX. On the plus side, I came out without a scratch or even whiplash. Gotta love Subaru safety

Sorry to hear this. At least your are alright, it's amazing that you can just walk away. Glad you're ok.

Dang, white subies are so hot. Your car pictures might change my favorite color from steel grey to aspen white. It just looks so good on the 06, and white graphite wheels it would look so awsome.

Love the white without a wing. Now my 06 blue looks kinda odd without the wing. I think im going to have to go get it installed...

Thanks for all the positive feedback. I like the white a lot. For one, few people have it (seems like all I saw for the blobeyes were silver or blue). Secondly, it was the only color left for the 04 that I bought a couple years ago when they were bringing the 05s in and it looked good. Also, being from Florida, dark colored cars are completely miserable to me during the summer. I hate stepping into an oven of a black car.

As for the wingless look, I thought it looked like it was missing the wing when I first got it to visually offset the hoodscoop. But since the low wing isn't really functional, I'm likeing it better without it. The trunk doesn't have all that weight on it anymore and swings open much easier.
