Two tuning companies refer to their power adding packages as stages; Cobb and Vishnu. Cobb is the most popular.

The staging varies from manufacturer to manufacturer. The Cobb Stage2 requires only an Accessport and downpipe, while the Vishnu Stage2 requires an ECU reflash, turbo-back exhaust, VF-34 turbo, Sti injectors and a high flow fuel pump. Each company is a little differant.

it all depends on the tuner you chose to go with....if we are talking about cobb tuning..then stage 1 is a Accessport and stage 2 is an AP+turbo back...

There's like 11 different companies out there that all have their different stages and as you bounce from forum to forum you're going to find different groups of people that follow different vendors stages. I-club has a larger following of Vishnu, clubwrx seems to be more cobb centric. . .

so vishnu this would still be stage one correct?

    VF34 (ceramic coated)
    STI Injectors
    Perrin Fuel rail
Vishnu downpipe (jethot 2000 coated) and full exhaust (dual tip version)
    GT-Spec headers (jethot 2000 coated)
    Ecutek ECU programming by Vishnu
XEDE - programming by Vishnu and self (for map adjustments)
yeah, I know. this car has both ECU remap and piggyback!
cockpit switch to switch between XEDE maps (i.e. 91 octane and 100 octane)
    Hyperflow Intercooler
    water spray for intercooler
