    From muscle to rally

Hi everyone.I just bought a 2006 sti in black.I sold my old muscle car and traded my camry to get it,and i love it sooooo much.I literally could not sleep the night before i picked it up.I saw this site and was very excited to join and learn more about these cars, and I hope to recruit the 3 other sti owners in my area.

    Thanks for the welcome.

My muscle car was a 66 buick wildcat gs with a 425 nailhead. It was fun while it lasted but i didnt have any time to restore it.Besides the sti is my #1 dream car.i was considering an 06 evo or an 05 gto but.................i went with what suited me best.

Good choice! I used to like the GTO more after seeing it in a drifting tourny but WRX is so much nicer. Who needs to drift with 2 tires when you can drift on all 4?

I like the look of the new gto's, and the mods that you can do.Like a twin turbo setup,or just go shopping on Lingenfelter.com and go nuts. But now that i've seen the new challenger, i'd rather just wait for that.Unless of course they started making the gto with the Z06's 7.0 litre (which they wont).Id take that drifting

    Oh, you bet!

There're so many in my area that I droool daily... don't get me wrong, I love my rex but I don't mind having one. Also every generation of Evo's and STi's, and I do notice that every one of them is modified to certain extent... I'm the only one driving a stock around here

Well, I just found something interesting on the road the other day. I don't know if it's GTR, it could be GTS, but the Skyline none the less!!

Where in Japan are you? I was in Okenawa for a few weeks over the summer. It was sweet but I didn't see a single R34 the whole time I was there The area was nice (like a Japanese Hawaii) but didn't seem all that wealthy judging by the age of the vast majority of the cars.

I miss seeing Skylines everywhere, even if most were GTS-Ts or R32/R33s.

    Yeah, you're right about Okinawa.
I've been there few times myself and would like to say that Okinawa is Nothing like the rest of Japan!! First time I was there, I thought I was back at SoCal. It felt strange but the place was sweet like you said. Come to think of it, I did not see any GT-R's nor any other sports cars while I was there neither.

Anyway, you have to come to the main land part of Japan to see GT-R's and all. Especially in bit of a country side then city side since there're more open/mountain roads in country side. I reside in a prefecture where the Mitsubishi manufacturing plant is located and as you could imagine, I see many Mitsu cars around including Evo's. This prefecture was also know for illegal street racing and drifting (I think still is) so it's natural to see GT-R's and other cars driving around everywhere I see.

Street drifting is just plain crazy to see in person!!
