    Engine management question

Hello all, I'm new here. Duh, it's the new member hangout, where else? I do, however, have questions for all you here that have been where I'm trying to go. I have a 03 wagon that I bought new for my wife, the only change from stock is an AEM intake. She wanted something with a little plusher ride, so she now is driving a Volvo S-40 T-5 turbo. I had to take over driving the WRX. Tough job, but someone had to do it. I'm looking to get a few more ponies out of the stock engine without major changes, and I figured the ecm would be the first place to look. What is the favorite vendor or supplier for an upgrade with all you more experienced guys? Do you have any ideas that might be a better place to start?

    TIA, Duane

Cobb or Turbxs would be your best bet. My personal preferance is to Cobb's Accessport, but there are alot of great reviews for the Turboxs Utec as well. Either one should get the job done. Both of their websites have tons of info on the products. Happy moding!

Try looking in the Engine Management section of the forum and doing a search.

But check out www.cobb.com and look at the accessport...if you don't plan on doing the tuning yourself, then this little guy is a good choice for just some good basic off the shelf maps.

If you're going to mod like crazy...something else may be better.

The Cobb can get some pretty good gains though.

Your first upgrade is easy - remove the intake and go back to stock. That should net you some ponies.

    Next step - Cobb AP/uppipe/downpipe.
