    ok im a noob with a noob question..

    My friend has a wrx and when he gets out of the car and he takes out his keys the engine still runs and turns off.. Why is that?

    it lets the oil run through the turbo to cool it down, but It is not needed on a WRX, because the WRX is oil/coolant cooled, so even after the engine is off, coolant is still cooling down the turbo. Turbo timers are only need on only oil cooled turbos.

    It might make his turbo last a *little* longer though.
