Breaking in the new 06 STI??

Whats up guys, well I just purchased my new 06 STI and I love it so far. I had a quick question though, how should I break the car in. Some have said dont take it over 4,000rpm for the first 1k miles and other said dont even step on it untill 3k and after the first oil change. I was reading that the harder you get on it before it breaks in the slower your car will run in the future, is this true?? Basically I just want to what the general rule of thumb is for breakin in a new machine like this?? Anyways, I cant wait to get to know you guys and so far the site is awesome.

    Nick

Howdy and welcome to the sight.
I think your owners manual might say a thing or two about the breakin. Well i went i think 1500 miles tryin not to go over 4k and not at a constant speed like the cruise control. I think i heard something about fast stoping not sure. But yea just treat it right and itll treat u right.

Maybe it's just me, but I imagine if you read the manual that came with your car it might have something to say about this... Think of it as the expert engineers at Subaru giving you some advice, rather than the expert engineers on this forum giving you advice
