    Decisions on 04/05 WRX

Well as my subject implies, im looking to purchase a Wrx within the next 2 months or so.
I wanted to know if i could get a couple of questions answered

-Why shouldnt i go for the imprezza, its a 2.5 compared to the wrx's 2.0. Yes i know there is a hp difference... but try to explain why it wiser to get a wrx.

    - What are common upgrades you guys do to the engine, and what parts/brands ?

    - I got like 20k to play with (around there ) ... gimme some suggestions.

    Thanks in advance guys...

WRX and 2.5RS performance are no where near eachother. WRX makes the 2.5RS look like it is parked.

The cost to mod a 2.5RS NA to compete w/ the WRX is expensive.

Agreed. Go with a WRX. Don't even bother with an RS unless you are interested in going with a GC RS and doing a V7 STi swap. Turboing the NA engine is a waste of time when you can start with a turboed platform in the WRX.

Don't waste that 20K into modding the car. Put that into buying an STI.

im guessing insurance would be too expensive for you on the sti. just statistically speaking, everyone is paying too much for insurance on an sti. i would get a wrx and use the runoff moneys to play with the car. you could score one relatively low mileage under 20k easily. speedette, how much did you pay for your rex? might help this guy out. i paid just under 20 grand for my 03 wagon with 28k miles on it about a half a year ago..
