get the WRX hands down. You can make good power for cheap with the WRX. With the 2.5 RS, the only way to really make good power is to do forced induction, which will cost a lot, and even then you can only run so much boost on a little turbo before the engine blows. The internals just were not meant for FI on the RS.

I would much rather have a modded WRX than a stock STi. It takes less than 2 grand to make a WRX faster than an STi. If you get used parts, it will be even cheaper than that.

This is the case if you are talking about straight line 1/4 mile speeds. Anything else forget about it.

Twisty Monster - 335 ft/lb of torque @ 3600 rpm on a stock turbo. Is that possible? Yes it is.

In my opinion, if you have the cash to get the STI, then buy the STI. I didn't have much $ so i bought the wrx which is still expensive. Plus, i may be wrong ( I am a noob ) but getting the wrx made me really excited about the time, money and blood, sweat and tears that it's going to take to push it over 300hp. Just wanting to put the work into the car was enough for me. ( I've owned mine for 10 days and i may change my opinion later, who knows? )

i got my 05 blue rex with 20k miles (they drove from VA to UT) on it for exactly 20k.
considering they paid 25k less than year before i figured i got a good deal

Shop around big time and get a WRX.

I scored my '04 WRB WRX w/ 18k miles, the rare 17" Forged Aluminum BBS wheel upgrade ($3k alone from subaru) and a Subaru Performance Tuning Axleback exhaust all installed by Mastro Subaru locally(found receipts in glove box) for $19500 Tax, Tag & Title out the door.

    Couldn't be happier....

too many people know too little about our cars. and a lot of those people own a wrx or an sti. learn the differences between the different cars and make your own educated decision if you havent already. let us know on the final choice.
