    New guy in MI

I have been reading stuff on here for a while and I finally bought a WRX so I figured I should join. I bought a 02 wagon, completly stock(won't last long like that). I can't wait to start getting to know this car.

What was your first mod? And what would you recommend for a first mod?

Welcome to the club. I'm up in Auburn Hills & work in Birmingham.

Your car being an 02, I am hoping whoever had it before you put new tires on it for you and got rid of the crappy RE92's.

If not, new wheels & tires are a great first mod.

As far as power is concerned - uppipe/downpipe and engine management will get you off to a good start.

Yeah it has brand new eagle F1s so I am not in to big of a hurry to replace them. I was thinking about getting an AP. I might wait out the winter. No reason for excess power in the winter.

    Any suggestions for winter tires

I can't recommend anything personally as all I've driven in the snow are the RE92s.

You may want to check out the Suspension & Handling forum and do a search for winter tires.

Be prepared for a PLETHORA of information.

The Eagles will not do well in the snow. Do you have one set of wheels for the WRX?

I have the Eagles as my summer tires.

Bridgestone has came out with these winter tires called the "REVO 1"... dont know if they are good, but The Tire Rack has tested them and gave them good reviews.
